'Orange Vase' is one of my favourite works, It is a gouache collage worked in my French studio inspired by Matisse and his 'cut outs'. It represents an everyday interior and whilst capturing the colours of the Mediterranean. I have long admired the work of Matisse and this piece was produced after visiting the Musee Matisse in Nice.
