This piece was painted in my studio near Carcassonne. It was inspired by a visit to a friend's converted medieval Keep in Saint Quentin, near Mirepoix. Surrounded by woodland, it was a sunny day and the trees were catching the light as we made our way up the very bumpy track which leads to the Keep.
