Collegiale St Vincent, Monteal, France

Medium:

Acrylic

'La Collegiale St Vincent, Montreal'. Acrylic on Canvas. This majestic building set on the crown of the village of Montreal, has a rich history dating back to the late 13th Century.  Originally the site of a small church, it was modified and transformed  becoming a 'collegiate' around 1318. Its layout and cathedral-like size are typically Meridional Gothic. It houses the 'Great Organ', recently restored to its full glory in 2024. Very much worth a visit if you venture to Carcassonne and its surrounding areas.

The painting was inspired by one of the many amazing sunsets when the sky turns a vivid red!
